Making charts, wire frames and various diagrams can be a struggle for some of us who are not excellent at illustrating or breaking down information into graphics. With the many available tools and applications around in the market today, it is hard to find one with ready-made feature stencils and templates.
This isn’t the case anymore when we learnt that Nulab, a Japan based company, has developed Cacoo.
What is Cacoo?
Cacoo is a web based real-time collaborative depiction application packed with so much goodness. It features a library of icons users can drag and drop to make site maps, wireframes, flow charts, network diagrams, mind maps, UML diagrams, and more.
If it sounds like another similar application you’ve used before, don’t be disappointed as yet. We have not revealed the unique selling point of Cacoo.
Cacoo is specially built to allow multiple users to make and edit designs collaboratively and in real-time. Once invited via email, collaborators can view, edit and chat about diagrams while they are being made. Any interaction with objects by users is highlighted inside the interface to improve communication. Chat is also integrated and it is simple to share the illustrations with new collaborators.
In addition, Nulab is launching the Cacoo Store this week where Cacoo users can trade their original stencils and templates via the store. The Cacoo Store is open to all registered Cacoo users.

How to Apply?
Making a stencil: Make your own stencil or template on Cacoo, or import your SVG depiction files from other depiction applications, such as Adobe Illustrator.
Save as a stencil: Save your item as Stencil.
Apply to the Cacoo Store: Apply the stencil to the Cacoo Store from the diagram detail page. Please place “Competition2011″ in the Notes field.
There is no limit to the number of icons in each access. Stencils will be reviewed and voted by the Cacoo Team. Each submission will be judged on the effectiveness of icons, design techniques and overall creativity.
